Mountains and valleys

We attach meaning to words. The word 'mountains' makes us think of challenges. And 'valleys'? We don't talk or think about them much. There is the crest and trough association too - up is thought of as good, and down ... not so much.

Mountains make us think of climbing them. Of conquering something, of moving, of action. But, valleys nurture us. They invite us to be still. To stop, breathe, recover, take your time and enjoy what you already have.

Me, I'm all for valleys. Mountains are tiring and glorious. Valleys are effortless and just as glorious. It's okay to be still.
